About me

11 years teaching Spanish

Hi! I'm Rebecca — a native Spanish speaker from Spain. I grew up between Spain and the UK, with family on both sides, and Spanish is not just a language I teach — it is my mother tongue, the language I think in, dream in, and feel in.

I have spent over eleven years teaching Spanish, alongside work in various language schools. I have taught beginners, intermediate and advanced learners, adults and professionals — very different profiles, with very different starting points. And what I enjoy most about this work is exactly that: every person learns differently, and finding the way Spanish works for them is a challenge that never gets old.

As a native Spanish speaker, I bring the real language — not the textbook version. I teach the Spanish people actually use: natural expressions, regional nuance, the way grammar feels rather than just how it is explained. That instinct is something no course can replicate, and I put it at the centre of every class.

Who I've worked with

Over the years I've taught students with very different starting points, goals and ways of learning. Each one has shaped how I teach.

01

Complete beginners

Starting from zero — no prior Spanish, no grammar foundation, just curiosity. We build from the ground up with real situations, not textbook dialogues. The goal is to feel capable quickly.

02

Conversational learners

Students who understand Spanish reasonably well but freeze when they have to speak. We focus on fluency, confidence and getting thoughts out naturally — less grammar anxiety, more real conversation.

03

Expats and movers

People living in Spain — or about to move — who need practical Spanish for daily life: dealing with admin, neighbours, local services, social situations. Functional, fast and grounded in real context.

04

Professionals

Spanish for work — meetings, emails, presentations, sector vocabulary. The content starts from their actual job context, not a generic business manual. Each session is built around what they genuinely need.

05

Language school groups

Alongside private classes, I have worked with language school groups at different levels. Teaching in a group setting requires a different energy — and I enjoy that dynamic just as much as one-to-one.
